This 14″ × 24″ × 1″ High Capacity listing (AAF Flanders part number 80255.011424) of the AAF Flanders PREpleat LPD pleated air filter ships as a case of 12 filters, and delivers MERV 10 filtration with the lowest initial resistance of any pleated filter in its class. Result: cleaner air, more runtime between changes, and less energy burned pushing air through a loaded filter.

What makes the HC (High Capacity) different?

The High Capacity variant uses a denser pleat pattern than the Standard Capacity filter, giving it more media surface area in the same footprint. More surface area means more dust can load before reaching end-of-life pressure drop — so HC filters last longer in dusty environments, light commercial settings, and pre-filter applications where replacement frequency is a cost driver.

What MERV 10 captures

Finer household dust, most pollen, mold spores, pet dander, and larger bacteria-sized particles — a practical step up for allergy-sensitive homes, wildfire-smoke regions, and light commercial spaces. Mechanical (not electrostatic) capture means performance doesn’t fade as the filter loads.

Design and construction

• Media: 100% synthetic non-woven, recyclable, gradient-density. Mechanical capture — performance does not fade with age the way charged-media filters can.
• Pleat support: Expanded metal continuously laminated to the air-leaving side to hold pleat shape through the filter’s service life.
• Pleat geometry: V-pleat design maximizes usable surface area and keeps pressure drop low across the loading curve.
• Frame: Heavy-duty two-piece moisture-resistant board with diagonal support members and interlocking corners. Media bonded to the frame at all contact points.
• Max operating temperature: 180°F (82°C).

Where it fits

Primary filter in residential returns and light commercial HVAC, and pre-filter ahead of higher-MERV media in larger commercial air handlers. Drop-in replacement for front-access holding frames and side-access housings.

Replacement schedule

At 1″ depth, plan to replace this filter every 60–90 days under typical residential or light commercial loading. High-dust environments, pet homes, wildfire smoke events, or construction-adjacent sites will shorten that window. Check the filter monthly through the first cycle to calibrate your schedule.
