This air filter is made to a 32-1/4 x 14 x 1″ nominal size for HVAC systems, air handlers, and return grilles that require an exact custom dimension rather than a standard retail size.
A custom-cut filter keeps every cubic foot of return air flowing through the media rather than around it, which is the foundation of any effective filtration setup.
At MERV 13, this filter removes a significantly larger share of fine particulate from your return air than standard mid-efficiency ratings — including smoke, bacteria-sized particles, and the fine dust that tends to resettle faster after cleaning. Because the media is denser, a properly sized HVAC system matters: check your blower’s static-pressure headroom before upgrading.
