Exact Filters® produces this 34-1/4 x 8-5/8 x 1″ filter to your measurements, so instead of trimming, taping, or forcing a “close enough” size into place, you drop in a filter that fits your 34-1/4 x 8-5/8 x 1″ slot the first time.
A properly fitting filter seals against the housing, so all return air is forced through the media instead of leaking around the frame.
MERV 13 targets the fine particulate fraction that lower MERV ratings allow through — including smoke, bacteria-carrying dust, and combustion byproducts. Airflow resistance is higher than MERV 8 or 11, so systems with borderline static pressure should be evaluated before switching up.
